Concerns regarding St Martha’s Playground Spray Deck

Dear Members,

Callingwood-Lymburn Community League has received complaints regarding the St. Martha Playground Spray Deck (Monsignor Walter Fitzgerald Park). We do know that the main bucket is broken and the City of Edmonton is working to repair the piece. We also know that one of the basketball hoops is broken and there is a lot of garbage in the playground. We ask our members if you see anything like this to please contact 311 and inform them of any issues as they are not able to respond if they are not made aware of any concerns.

St. Martha SAC and CLCL are working with the City and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Canada Day Fireworks Concerns

Dear Residents,

Callingwood Lymburn Community League was not involved with any planning of the fireworks for Canada Day. The closest activity that we were aware of, was one put on by the Muslim Association Of Canada (MAC) by Talmudtorah School on Callingwood Road. It has come to our attention that there was some misleading advertisement that was sent to the public indicating that the fireworks would be held at Callingwood Sports Field. While we are sorry that many of you came to this venue to find that no such event was occurring, there is little that we can do to rectify the situation. We suggest that should you wish to voice some concern over this incident that both the City of Edmonton and MAC be contacted. MAC, the event organizers, may be reached at 780-443-3200. The City of Edmonton, who was involved with both the approval of the fireworks permit/venue and advertisement can be reached at 311.

We are deeply sorry for the disappointment many of you must have faced with this miscommunication. We hope these contact numbers will allow you to find some resolution over this issue.
